Well a lot is happening but nothing worth blogging about. After finally getting the nose cone out of the bubble wrap i found it dented
but a few hits with the rubber mallet popped it back out. but onto this weeks topic.
At the moment I’m working for my company as a contractor for the defence force here in S.A (It support), and i came across this dude in V.I.C who was playing around with spray painting pictures. I dropped him an email and asked if he felt up to the challenge of doing a beetle related pic. Next day i had an email from him containing two pictures entitled “Work In Process”;
I thought these were awesome, then on the Monday after the weekend i got a post letting me know he had finished the pictures, again with the two images included.
How awesome are they?
Anyway next issue find out how to get them from Vic to here without them breaking (they are done on MDF so could be easily broken).
Will keep you updated.
As per the topic of this post, I will explain some of the back story. Back in the good old days where the Australian dollar was almost equal to the US dollar. I found a site called bfyobsoleteparts.com seemed like a good site and a few searches found it not to be dodgy. As its a US company i was happy to pay for shipping to AU. This was back in late June. Late August i hadn’t received my parts yet, followed them up after they told me it had been sent 3 times, finally it actually was sent. I get it only to find that half of the items weren’t there. Waited another month still nothing literally this week (Early Nov) the item turned up. I am happy that the item has come and it was packed very well, but I’m not sure if i will order from them again or tell people to use them. I am lucky i didn’t need it urgently. Will post some more pics asap.
I have been busy(or lazy) as of late, taking a few pictures as i do things like installing the rubber seals on the bonnet and decklid (not fun), and cleaning up inside the beetle (the second beetle the original is on hold untill ig et some money together). These pics are after i have given it a nice clean…

Quick look inside (even has the factory plastic on the door.) I really want to get the late seats in there i dont like these mini versions
But it may be time to put some pics of beetles i have collected up on my trips around the internet.
Also have another video of the new beetle wobbeling without the muffler
Gotta change spark plugs soon, just waiting for a good quality spark plug socket to rock up.
